Genovesi 1914

Genovesi 1914 is an exhibition project conceived by Jacopo Brancati, Aldo Perasso, and Stéphane Martin, taking visitors on a journey through time to discover the lives of early 20th-century Genoese and their city.

The exhibition begins with a series of previously unpublished photographs combined with images and documents from the archives of major cultural institutions, both in Genoa and elsewhere, to foster a cultural connection between past and future, encouraging citizens to renew their commitment to the city's sustainable and prosperous development.

The exhibition documents and promotes Genoa's cultural and technological heritage prior to the First World War, fostering awareness and civic identity.

Jacopo Brancati, an independent curator, author, and photographer, creates an exhibition that brings the city's daily life, the entrepreneurial genius, and the creativity of the Genoese to the forefront.

Aldo Perasso, an innovation broker, explores the use of new technologies, such as AI, in relation to photographs and historical archives to connect the past to the present and advance into the future.

Stéphane Martin, a French illustrator, uses his art and imagination to bring to life the Genoese captured in photographic images from a century ago.
